Again and again in the Scriptures, God hears His people’s prayers and acts on their behalf. So why do we hesitate to approach Him? When we live with uprightness in our hearts, coming to God in prayer can become a more natural and a more regular, even daily, practice. Let our prayer life be the center of everything we choose to do, especially in the days ahead. And, on a grander scale, may our nation repent, turn to God, and become a people of prayer.
1 Chronicles 29:17 I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You.
We cry out to you with hearts that need Your blessings. Give us wisdom to make the right decisions that will bring honor to You and will purify our hearts. Let the words that we speak draw us closer to Your presence. We recognize, O Lord, that You are in control of all things. Help this nation to hear Your voice, protect us from evil, and lead us in the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake.
